But the point I'm making is also made by the popes in their social encyclicals, that is, that "while Love is the soul of Justice, Love and Charity should never be a substitute for Justice." And if Social Justice is more than describing the injustices of the current system and the system's laws and institutions, then each of us, you included, have a personal responsibility to work together with others to change the system.

As you were clearly informed when you joined the Kelso Binary Economics discussion group that its purpose was to further understanding and unite people to work together to make the economic system more dynamic and just for everyone, including you and other needy people. I hope you understand that when you constantly remind others in this group of your commitment to Love and Charity, no one disagrees with you. But your continuing reminders that people need to be more charitable are off-point, especially when our purpose is make the economic system more just for everyone and radically reduce the need for voluntary charity and forced charity (that is, using the coercive power of the State to redistribute Peter's earned income to pay for the needs of his neighbor Paul.)

I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving, Chris.

Own or Be Owned (by those who control and trickle down your consumption needs),
NormAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
